A task force associated with the Chiss Chaf family was determined to obtain a massive starship that held survivors aboard hailing from Lesser Space, the portion of the galaxy stretching beyond the Unknown Regions.[1] Around 27 BBY,[2] following the starship's capture by the task force, Mitth family Syndic Mitth'ras'safis, core name "Thrass," and a human stole the ship as both of them wished to offer the alien technology inside to the Defense Hierarchy Council of the Chiss Ascendancy government. The ship was too damaged to reach its intended destination, however, forcing Thrass and his companion to crash it.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Chaf task force was mentioned in the Star Wars canon continuity in the flashbacks of the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the final volume in Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1] The task force mirrors the Star Wars Legends continuity's Chaf fleet that captured the massive Outbound Flight starship before it was stolen by Syndic Thrass and the Human Jedi Lorana Jinzler in the 2006 novel Outbound Flight, also written by Zahn.[3]
