A CR90 corvette served the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the Rebel Alliance Navy. In 4 ABY,[2] the corvette was shot down during the Battle of Endor, but its crash landing gave its surviving crew an opportunity to raid the DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station.[1][3]

History

The corvette was one of many in the service of the Rebel Alliance Navy by 4 ABY,[2] and was captained under Major Shin in the Battle of Endor. During the battle, the corvette sustained crippling damage and fell to the DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station's equatorial surface, but the crew managed to steer and crash-land in one of the hangar bays of the station's northern command sector. Stranded but alive, Major Shin led the surviving crew in an effort to hijack an Imperial ship and escape the enemy battle station, facing opposition from Colonel Brenna and her brigade.[1]

After a desperate fight through the Death Star, sabotaging the tractor beam, turbolasers, and even one of the superlaser's tributary laser streams, Shin and his troops would succeed in fleeing on a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle and continue to serve the Rebellion in the wake of the battle.[1]

Shortly after its abandonment, the wreck of the corvette was further destroyed with the rest of the Death Star, when its hypermatter reactor exploded.[4]

Behind the scenes

The corvette first appeared in Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) on the Command Sector North map, playable in the Galactic Assault, Heroes vs. Villains, Hero Showdown, Supremacy, Co-Op Missions, Blast, Instant Action, and Arcade gamemodes. In Galactic Assault, it serves as the spawn point for the rebel side during their first phase of the game, with their offensive objective being to override the battle station's tractor beam generator and control stations.[1] The 2018 Topps Star Wars Galactic Files card for the droid R2-Q5 affirms that the general events of the Rebel skirmish through the command sector seen in Galactic Assault are canonical, stating he "perform[ed] duties for the Rebel Alliance during the second Death Star raid."[3]
