- "Did we win? wi-"
- ―The B1-series droid
An B1-series battle droid[1] of the Separatist Droid Army was left deactivated since the Clone Wars[4] in a droid repair shop on the asteroid Port Borgo[1] around 9 ABY.[5] While looking for the droid SM-33, the pirate Jod Na Nawood activated the B1-series battle droid to check if it was SM-33. Upon being activated, the droid asked if they had won before their head fell off and they deactivated.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "When Jod turns one on, there was no real dialogue written for it. I mean, it could say ‘Roger, Roger,’ because that’s the immediate funny thing, but this droid hadn't been turned on since the Clone Wars era, so the first thing I had it say was, ‘Did we win?’"
- ―Matthew Wood
The B1-series battle droid appeared in "Very Interesting, As an Astrogation Problem," the third episode of the Disney+ live-action series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,[1] which aired on December 10, 2024.[6] Matthew Wood, the voice actor of battle droids throughout various pieces of Star Wars media (particularly Star Wars: The Clone Wars) returned to voice cameo as the B1, with his line "did we win?" being improvised for humor.[4] After the scene was shot, according to David W. Collins, they had to stop and take a break because "it was just that ridiculous."[4]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition,
"A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well.
SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
