Umé was a human who served as one of the handmaidens of the planet Naboo's Royal House.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] Umé attended the funeral of Naboo's senator, Padmé Amidala, shortly after the end of the Clone Wars. The handmaiden took part in Amidala's funeral procession through[3] the city Theed,[1] walking alongside Queen Apailana of Naboo and another handmaiden. During the event,[3] Umé wore a patterned and hooded red cloak. They had light skin and blue eyes.[1]
Behind the scenes
Umé appeared in the 2005 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[3] The funeral scene was filmed at Fox Studios, Sydney on September 16, 2003.[4] In the current Star Wars canon, the character was identified in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia.[1] The name originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was created by Leland Chee for the "Rogues Gallery" department of the 142nd issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine,[5] published on June 10, 2013.[6]
