The Ulkantha asteroids[3] were located in the Ulkantha system, a part of the Tharin sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] At some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY,[4] the Galactic Empire carried out a raid in the Ulkantha asteroids. As a result, the Empire's Star Destroyer fleet known as the Death Squadron learned about an extensive Sakiyan smuggling ring based at the Syvris shadowport[3] in the Al'Nasrl sector's Syvris system.[5] The Death Squadron subsequently carried out a devastating attack on the shadowport.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Ulkantha asteroids were first mentioned in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.[3] The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Ulkantha system, and therefore the asteroids, in grid square S-8.[1]
