Ulric's Redemption

Ulric's Redemption was an uncommon and powerful lightsaber crystal found in the galaxy during the Galactic Civil War.^[1] The crystal shared the name of Ulic Qel-Droma, a Jedi turned Sith Lord who eventually returned to the light side during the days of the Old Republic.^[2]

Behind the scenes

Ulric's Redemption appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,^[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.^[3]

Ulric's Redemption was part of a series of 19 unique lightsaber color crystals created in the context of the Publish 9's Jedi system revamp^[4] in June 2004.^[5] However, only one of those crystals — Sunrider's Destiny — was made available in the game.^[6] Ulric's Redemption and the other crystals were not introduced in the game at that time.^[7]^[8] Ulric's Redemption was eventually added to the game with the release of the Hotfix 21.4 on October 20, 2011. Players had a small chance to loot the crystal from enemies defeated during raids.^[9] The item added in the game was spelled "Ulric's Redemption"^[1] while the original unreleased crystal was known as "Ulic's Redemption."^[4]
