Ugloste was a male Ugnaught who operated the carbon-freezing chamber in Cloud City and froze Han Solo in 3 ABY. He was in charge on determining how to use carbon-freezing on humans, like Solo.[1] Ugloste witnessed Solo being frozen and surviving the process.[2]

Personality and traits

Having worked away for humans before he even came to Cloud City, Ugloste had little compunction when the time came to freeze the smuggler Han Solo in carbonite.[1]

Behind the scenes

Ugloste was played by Jack Purvis in the 1980 film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[2] After restoration work, Ugloste's mask sold for $34,000 at auction in 2020.[3]
