UAG uniforms were used by the members and guards of the Universal Analysis Group (UAG), an organization of the Chiss Ascendancy located at the planet Sposia that documented and researched alien artifacts brought to the Ascendancy. Around the time of the founding of the UAG,[1] by 18 BBY,[2] there was consideration of removing family ties of all UAG personnel in the hope of removing family politics from the organization, but the idea was not approved as it would have brought too much unwanted attention to the group. As a compromise, the uniforms did not have any Chiss family crests or signatures.[1]
Behind the scenes
UAG uniforms appeared in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the final installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
