- "A radio? Well, I suppose talking to the Empire beats talking to the hasty walls."
- ―Tripp D'jek, to a spacer
Tripp D'jek was a Human male who served in the army of the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.
Biography
- "I was part of a rescue team of 5 dropped in before the walls went up. We lost a squad of scouts...never did find them. Anyway, we were on foot at the last known location when they attacked."
- ―Tripp D'jek, to a spacer
After the Battle of Yavin, Tripp D'jek was a Rebel trooper in the army of the Rebel Alliance.[2]
In 1 ABY,[3] an accident took place in an Imperial Research and Prison Facility on the planet Dathomir. The Blackwing virus that was studied there escaped containment and decimated most of the people in the area, turning them into starving undead creatures. In response, the Galactic Empire promptly established a Quarantine Zone to contain the infection. The few people who survived the initial virus outbreak were trapped in the Quarantine Zone. The survivors established camps in order to to repel the regular assaults of the zombies and try to live in safety while waiting for an evacuation.[4]

The Rebel Alliance quickly discovered the accident on Dathomir and dispatched a small unit of Rebel troops, including Tripp D'jek, to investigate the Imperial Research and Prison Facility and rescue survivors. However, the Rebel forces were soon attacked by undead stormtroopers and suffered heavy casualties. When some Rebel soldiers started to display symptoms of the sickness, the evacuation missions were aborted and the few remaining Rebels were stuck in the Quarantine Zone.[2] Tripp D'jek eventually took shelter in Camp Gamma,[1] along with the Rodian Kyra 'Naa[5] and the Bothan Oona Wran.[6]
Later, a spacer arrived at Camp Gamma and delivered a radio to Tripp D'jek. The radio was provided by the Imperial pilot Jeb Maris in Camp Alpha who had decided to establish communications between the camps. Once radios were delivered to the five camps in the Quarantine Zone, the survivors were able to safely coordinate high altitude supply drops sent from outside the Quarantine Zone.[1]

- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
