Transference prism

A transference prism was a rare type of crystal that was mined from the hearts of gas giants.[1] They were highly conductive, and were used by pirates near Wild Space to divert power from their starship's deflector shield to its weapon systems.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] merchant members of the Miyuki Trade League sold the prisms for 3600 credits.[1]

In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess purchased a number of crystals for use in upgrading the Trailblazer, her EML-850 light freighter.[1]

Behind the scenes

Transference prisms first appeared in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] In the game, Transference prisms were an upgrade the player could purchase and equip to their ship which reduced their shield strength, but increased the damage of their laser cannons.[1]
