A trans-accelerator was a blaster component that increased the amount of transformed blaster gas into energy. This resulted in a reduced charge time for certain powerful blaster modules.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] the Galactic Empire had made the component illegal. However, at least one accerator had been stashed away at a smuggler hideout called the Bolthead on the shores of Lake Amari on the jungle planet Akiva.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess recovered the accelerator from the Bolthead hideout and used it to the modify her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol's pulse module.[1]
Behind the scenes
A trans-accelerator appeared as an upgrade item in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The player must obtain the converter, twenty units of chalcopyrite and fifteen cryo-coils in order upgrade their blaster's pulse power module to level four.[1]
