Torul Blom

Torul Blom was a male Pau'an politician who served as governor of Pau City on Utapau during the Clone Wars.

Biography

When Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were sent to Utapau to investigate the death of Jedi Master Tu-Anh, Blom met them to inform that their presence had upset Pau City citizens, as well as to deny the Confederacy of Independent Systems' presence on the planet.^[1]

It was later revealed that the Pau'an governor was in league with the arms dealer Endente and Separatist leader Count Dooku. As Blom awaited for Endente to arrive with a massive kyber crystal that was valuable to the Separatists, he was informed of the arrival of Count Dooku's enforcer, General Grievous. He was present when Endente came empty-handed into his office and witnessed the Sugi's decapitation at the hands of Grievous for his failure. When Kenobi and Skywalker returned to Pau City to request his help, Blom had them arrested and retrieved the crystal for his Separatist allies.^[3]

His victory was short-lived as his men and B1-series battle droids were defeated and the two Jedi escaped. Grievous arrived a few moments after the duo had fled and seemed quite angered. Realizing his mistake, the governor told the cyborg warlord that he was sorry for the complication, at which Grievous stabbed Blom with a lightsaber, killing him and scornfully remarking that only now was he truly sorry.^[3]

Personality and traits

Blom is shown to be very cold hearted towards Anakin and Obi-Wan for getting involved in the investigation of Tu-Anh's death and orders them to leave and take Tu-Anh's body. He even denies the CIS are on Utapu.^[1] When he was revealed to be in league with Grievous, he intended to have Anakin and Obi-Wan executed and has no problem killing Jedi. However, he is shown to be a coward when Anakin and Obi-Wan took him and Jen June hostage and cowardly ordered his men and battle droids not to shoot and let them go.^[3]
