The bartender Ackmena, one of Tohrm's contacts
The Ryn Tohrm was an active member of the galaxy-wide anti-slavery organization known as Freedom Flight in the time following the Second Galactic Civil War. Within Freedom Flight, Tohrm served as a pilot who helped enslaved individuals escape from their servitude and smuggled them elsewhere in the galaxy to establish new lives with new identities. He was a contact of the enslaved Human aspiring Freedom Flight member Kitaya Shuul, who lived on the planet Tatooine, as well as at least two other Freedom Flight members, including a Bothan nicknamed "Blink" and the Human bartender Ackmena.[2]
By 44 ABY,[1] Tohrm was killed by one of the organizations opposing Freedom Flight. When he did not make his usual stops at Tatooine, both Shuul and Ackmena became worried; Shuul assumed that visits for Tohrm had become too risky and he was being forced to lie low. However, Blink soon met with Ackmena in Chalmun's Cantina on Tatooine and reported Tohrm's death while speaking in code, adding that he had taken over Tohrm's shipment of slavery escapees. Shuul overheard the conversation and was saddened by the news of Tohrm's death. When Shuul later introduced herself to Blink, she mentioned Tohrm's name to prove she was an ally of Freedom Flight.[2]
