A thunder-wasp was a type of creature that buzzed and moved in a swarm.[1] Thunder-wasps shared their name with the Thunder Wasp, an Arquitens-class light cruiser.[2]

Thunder-wasps were first mentioned in the junior novel Choose Your Destiny: A Finn & Poe Adventure, which was written by Cavan Scott and published in 2019. In one of the book's non-canonical story paths, Varak's seeker droid buzzes like a swarm of thunder-wasps as it pursues Finn.[1]
