- "Porcellia Ga played her first show here. You're probably too young to remember Porcellia Ga. One of the great electro-twang belters. Now there's someone who knew how to own a room. She'd start revving that thumper and you wouldn't be able to look away. That was real music."
- ―A Morenia cleaner, to Kay Vess
A thumper was an instrument used by the musician Porcelli Ga to perform electro-twang music.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] Ga had performed her first show aboard the the casino cruiser Morenia. A human cleaner who saw the performance while working aboard the cruiser later considered Ga to be one of the great electro–twang belters who could draw the attention of a room when she started revving a thumber.[1]
That year,[2] the same cleaner mentioned Ga's performance and her ability with a thumper to the gambler Kay Vess while cleaning her room on the Morenia.[1]
Behind the scenes
Thumpers were mentioned in the "Wild Card" story expansion for the video game Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment, published by Ubisoft,[1] and released on November 21, 2024.[3] The instrument was mentioned by a human cleaner that players could listen to after calling them to clean Vess's room aboard the Morenia. The interaction with the cleaner is part of one path players could take to acquire a universal keycard to the cruiser. However, players who choose an alternate path to acquire the keycard or who walk away from the cleaner early can miss this dialog.[1]
