- «I wanted to state our terms of surrender and offer medical aid for your people.»
«You know I can't accept. […] Neither you nor any other Chiss is ever to see our faces or know our forms. Not until we sit on the thrones of the ancient kings on Csilla.» - ―Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo and Jixtus
Around 18 BBY,[2] during Senior Captain Thrawn's last stand in the Unknown Regions' Sunrise system, the Grysk operative "Jixtus"'s forces were defeated, and the Chiss Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo offered medical aid to Jixtus's people; however, the Grysk refused, claiming that no Chiss was to see what a Grysk looked like until they sat on the thrones of the ancient kings located on the Unknown Regions planet Csilla. Thrawn then corrected that the kings and their thrones did not exist before Jixtus killed himself by activating the self-destruct mechanism on his flagship, the Shatter-class WarMaster FateSpinner.[1]
Behind the scenes
The thrones of the ancient kings were mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the final volume in Timothy Zahn's Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
