- "That's one of ours. The Thranta."
- ―Evaan Verlaine
The Thranta was a starship of the Survivor Fleet, a fleet of Alderaanians who survived the destruction of the planet Alderaan by the Death Star and had been rescued by the rebels Leia Organa and Evaan Verlaine.[2] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[3] a group of raiders serving the former Galactic Empire commander Ellian Zahra, who had a vendetta against Organa, attacked the Survivor Fleet, destroying several of its vessels and capturing the Thranta.[1]
Zahra set a trap for Organa,[1] leaving the Thranta empty aside from the Preserver Jora Astane, who was dead but connected to machinery that kept her body active enough to show a life sign. When the Survivor Fleet missed several check-ins, Verlaine, Organa, and Luke Skywalker investigated the fleet's last known location. There, they found the Thranta, and Organa and Skywalker boarded the vessel, discovering Astane's body. Zahra's raider forces subsequently arrived, launching an attack on the Thranta. Skywalker took Organa to an escape pod, but the Thranta was destroyed shortly afterward. Organa's escape pod was captured by Zahra and brought aboard one of her vessels,[2] while Skywalker, who had also managed to enter an escape pod, was collected from the Thranta's wreckage shortly afterward. The rebels ultimately defeated Zahra, and Organa later learned that a majority of the Survivor Fleet had escaped.[1]
