- "When I was your age I was still trying to figure out the Third Cadence, Vern. You're an amazing Jedi, and I'm proud to get a chance to work with you before you end up on the Council."
- ―Douglas Sunvale, to Vernestra Rwoh
Douglas Sunvale recounted his struggles to learn the Third Cadence to Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh (pictured).
The Third Cadence was a cadence taught to Jedi students during the High Republic Era.[1] By 234 BBY,[2] during his Jedi training, the fifteen-year-old human Douglas Sunvale was unable to fully understand the Third Cadence.[1]
Between 233 BBY and 232 BBY,[3] after the Mirialan Padawan Vernestra Rwoh had become a Jedi Knight at fifteen, she traveled to the outpost Port Haileap on the Outer Rim planet Haileap and was greeted by Sunvale—by then a Jedi Master—who congratulated her on passing her Jedi Trials at such a young age. The Jedi Master then told Rwoh that when he was her age, he had still been trying to figure out the Third Cadence. After Sunvale was killed during a Nihil attack[1] in 232 BBY,[2] Rwoh thought about the Jedi Master and mentally recalled the time he had told her about his struggle to grasp the Third Cadence.[1]
Behind the scenes
