Theljan whales lived in the waters of Thelj. They had the capacity to break the green icy crust that could cover the planet's waters in certain areas. A group of Theljan whales were circled under the ice[1] in 382 BBY[2] when Children of the Open Hand members Yana Ro, Kor Plouth, and Treze were walking to the Graf compound. When Yana and Kor fled the compound soon after with their mission had failed, the group of whales had greatly increased in number and began to smash up against the ice. The Evereni avoided falling into the water once the whales broke a hole in the ice, but she was forced to leave her girlfriend's body behind. The remains of Kor were then claimed by dark shapes which emerged from the newly broken hole to spirit the corpse away.[1]
