- "That would have been the Thearterra center. I spent some time there before getting married and settling here."
- ―Borika, to Thalias while on Ool
The Thearterra center was a building on[1] the Unknown Regions[2] terrestrial astronomical object Thearterra in the Chiss Ascendancy, the nation of the Chiss species. It was one of the facilities of the Seekers program, which trained Chiss Sky-walker navigators and removed their memories of their birth families so that the girls were not stressed by homesickness during their service to the Expansionary Defense Fleet. The facility was located near a carnival, which the caregivers would sometimes take the girls to as a break from their training.[1]
Sometime before 18 BBY,[3] Cohbo'rik'ardok, core name "Borika," a former sky-walker, worked with the girls at the facility on Thearterra before marrying the Chiss Bomarmo and settling on the Ardok Ranch on the planet Ool, home to the Seekers' Shadehouse. Che'ri, the sky-walker of the Chiss heavy cruiser Springhawk, completed at least a part of her training at the Thearterra facility, and she remembered the music played at the carnival when her caregiver Mitth'ali'astov "Thalias" performed similar music.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Thearterra center was mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the final installment of Timothy Zahn's The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
