The Scanner piece hanging from a handlebar

The Scanner was a game piece used in the Canto Pass game that resembled a scanner. As a threat piece, it was not worth any points, but it prevented the player from picking up their next piece, no matter the type.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] one such piece had been stored in a container in Imperial Outpost 74 in the North Jundland Wastes region of the Outer Rim desert planet Tatooine.[1]

In 3 ABY,[2] a thief named Kay Vess found the container and stole the Scanner piece.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Scanner Canto Pass piece appeared in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. It was one of several Canto Pass pieces that could be collected in the game and used as trinkets to customize the appearance of the player's S57 Cardinal speeder bike and the interior of the Trailblazer, a player's EML-850 light freighter.[1]
