The Magys's people were a sentient species that resided within the Unknown Regions and hailed from the planet Sunrise. The Magys was a Force-sensitive member of the species.[1]

Society and culture

The species was a matriarchal society, who people had an unbreakable obligation to obey orders of the Magys, the Planetary leader of the species.[1]

History

The species' homeworld of Sunrise was devastated in a cataclysmic civil war, which was orchestrated by Haplif of the Agbui under the orders of the Grysk "Jixtus." Haplif and his team orchestrated the civil war on Sunrise in under six months. After the war, city lights that had shone brightly on the night side of the planet shone no longer, and the clouds had turned gray and black from the smoke and fire of the war. All of the pre-war government computers on Sunrise were destroyed in the war, leaving refugees who fled the planet without access to records of other civilizations. The planet was then taken over and mined for nyix by the Agbui, which was subsequently used extensively in Haplif and Jixtus' plot to destroy the Chiss Ascendancy.[1]

The civil war caused the Magys and two hundred refugees to flee into a starship, where they would come across the planet Rapacc, homeworld of the Paccosh, who gave shelter to the refugees. The Magys, believing that her world was destroyed, wished for her and her people to die in order to pass on to the Beyond in order to heal it.[1]

Technology

The species never developed long-range communications triad on Sunrise, this was in contrast to the other sentient species of the Chaos which did.[1]
