"As Lelie Ruemerll argued in their wonderful study The Long Shadow of the New Order, this is not simply a problem of the past. Those who were left bereft and devastated by the Empire are still suffering and now they have been joined by those persecuted by the First Order."
―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1]

The Long Shadow of the New Order was a study by the author Lelie Ruemerll that argued the suffering of those who were devastated by the Galactic Empire remained a problem even after its fall[1] in 5 ABY.[2] In 35 ABY,[3] the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned the study in[1] his[4] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire. Kin described the study as "wonderful" and agreed with it, adding that the victims of the First Order should also be included in its argument.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Long Shadow of the New Order was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]
