- "As Lelie Ruemerll argued in their wonderful study The Long Shadow of the New Order, this is not simply a problem of the past. Those who were left bereft and devastated by the Empire are still suffering and now they have been joined by those persecuted by the First Order."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
Lelie Ruemerll was the author of the study The Long Shadow of the New Order, in which they argued that those whose worlds had been devastated by the Galactic Empire and left with nothing to rebuild were still suffering after the Empire's fall[1] in 5 ABY.[2] In 35 ABY,[3] the historian Beaumont Kin cited Ruemerll's study and called it wonderful in[1] his[4] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, in which he supported Ruemerll's point and added the victims of the First Order to the sentiment.[1]
Behind the scenes
Lelie Ruemerll was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1] The character was named in reference to Eleanor "Ellie" Mueller, co-host of the podcast Daughters of Ferrix.[5]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
