- "To hammer this message home the Coalition for Progress created brand new holodramas like The Last Betrayal, where earnest Imperial officials and officers were attacked or undermined by shadowy robed figures."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
The Last Betrayal was a holodrama created by the Galactic Empire's Coalition for Progress as a piece of anti-Jedi propaganda. In order to paint the Jedi Order as villains, the drama depicted shadowy robed figures attacking Imperial officers and officials but did not explicitly identify the villains as Jedi. Despite this, the shared reference points with other anti-Jedi material struck a mark with audiences.[1] In 35 ABY,[2] the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned The Last Betrayal in[1] his[3] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Last Betrayal was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
