Tentacle bird of Pelemax

The tentacle bird of Pelemax was an unusual flightless avian with tentacles that originated in the Pelemax system.

Biology and appearance

The birds had tentacles on its upper torso instead of wings. They were capable of going a month without consuming water due to large internal storage receptacles located along the neck and upper torso. They emitted a particularly intimidating cry.^[1]

History

They were used by the Pelemaxians as a mount in time of war. They were later sold by the Pelemaxians off-world to be used as beasts of burden on desert of jungle worlds. It was theorized that the creatures could either be a mutation or a hybrid between two creatures.^[1]
