Tensor field

A tensor field was a form of electromagnetic field. Imperial All Terrain Armored Cargo Transport walkers utilized waveguided tensor fields in the joints of their legs to keep their overstressed motive assemblies in smooth alignment, allowing them to take almost any weight, and making them virtually impervious to being knocked over.^[1]

Tensor fields were also utilized on Providence-class Dreadnoughts of the Confederacy of Independent Systems Navy, such as the Invisible Hand. During the Battle of Coruscant the starship lost its tensor fields to pressure from Coruscant's gravity well, and broke in half and started to fall to the planet below.^[2]
