Data fields
This infobox's fields are primarily based on information found on pages ix-xi of The Essential Atlas. Reference that to help you.
- Name - Star's name. Example: Black dwarf; Red supergiant
- Type - Classification type. Example: Main-sequence star; Compact star; Dwarf star
- Color - Star's color. Example: K stars like Yavin are orange
- Temperature - Surface temperature. Example: K stars are described as "cool"; blue O and B stars are "hot". See also page 79 of Galaxy Guide 8: Scouts for a numerical temperature scale.
- Lifespan - Give the numerical lifespan in years. Example: For orange K stars like Yavin, 60 billion
- Percentstars - Percentage of all stars. Example: 7% for white dwarfs
- Supportlife - Possibility of supporting life. This field should either say "Unlikely" or "Possible" based on Atlas page xi
- Percenthabitable - Habitability percentage. Example: 50% for yellow G stars
- Numberhabitable - Number of habitable stars in the galaxy. Example: 3.75 billion for orange K stars
- Star - List a sample star. Use the ones listed on Atlas page xi.
- System - List an example of a star system that hosts this star type. Only use this field if there is no named example to fill in the "Sample star" field. Example: A system that is said to have a white dwarf star, but the star is not named and we have no article for the star.
