- ―Holobrochure for the Tagge Holographic Museum of Chandrila
Telkadis was a terrestrial celestial body[3] located in the Telkadis system, a part of the Greater Plooriod sector[1] in the Northern Dependencies portion of[2] the Expansion Region.[1] Its surface featured forests of taku trees. The area was home to the rodent known as the volete as well as the predatory arachnid known as the Telkadis hiding tree spider. The latter burrowed into the taku trees, from which they ambushed prey such as voletes and also attacked Telkadian foresters and loggers when their host trees were threatened. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Telkadis was mentioned in an entry of a holobrochure for the Tagge Holographic Museum of[3] the planet[4] Chandrila dedicated to the Telkadis hiding tree spider.[3]
Behind the scenes
Telkadis was mentioned in the 1994 sourcebook Creatures of the Galaxy, published by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The section of the book mentioning the celestial body was authored by Rick D. Stuart.[3] The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Telkadis system, and therefore Telkadis itself, in grid square M-7.[1]
