- "She liked being scratched under the chin and had a fondness for nydak blood. And after the Separatists attacked… I never saw her again."
- ―Merrin, to Chellwinark Frethylrin
Teeno was the pet bramble lynx of the Dathomirian Nightsister Merrin when she was a child on the planet Dathomir. According to Merrin, Teeno started out small but she was raised right to become "very cute;" she was protective of Merrin and would rip anything apart for her. Teeno was fond of nydak blood and being scratched under the chin.[1]
In 20 BBY,[2] Merrin was one of the only survivors when General Grievous and his Separatist Droid Army attacked and killed the Nightsisters; she never saw Teeno again.[1] Between 12 BBY and 11 BBY,[3] Merrin was part of the Stinger Mantis crew and looked back upon her pet as the best creature she had ever known. When her new lover, the Imperial deserter Chellwinark Frethylrin, asked her to say something about herself, Merrin talked about Teeno. Frethylrin was amused when Merrin said the bramble lynx was "very good at murders," then comforted Merrin regarding her losses.[1]

- ↑ Jedi: Battle Scars dates itself to a few years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which take place in 14 BBY per Star Wars: Timelines. Therefore, the events of Jedi: Battle Scars must take place in 12 BBY at the earliest. Additionally, the novel dates itself within the years before Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the events of which take place in 9 BBY per the reasoning here. Within Jedi: Survivor, it is also noted the Stinger Mantis crew has been broken up for "years." As the crew are together in Jedi: Battle Scars, the latest it can take place is 11 BBY. Therefore, the events of Jedi: Battle Scars occur between 12 and 11 BBY.
