Tee

The tee were large scalefish native to the oceans of Naboo.

Biology and appearance

A standard tee was a rotund fish with bright-red scales, its fins relatively large to its body.^[1]

Behavior

Tee were known to be voracious hunters. They generally moved quite slowly, but were fast swimmers when chasing prey.^[1] Outside the safer region of the Naboo Abyss, there were much larger specimens were known to have swallowed Gungans whole.^[3] Aside from Gungans, tee ate whatever they could catch and fit into their mouths, most often daggerts.^[1] Tee formed a symbiotic relationship with the smaller laa, which would enter the tee's gills to clean off and eat parasitic yobshrimp that infested their bodies.^[3]

History

Tee were present in the waters of Lake Paonga during the Invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation in 32 BBY.^[2]

Behind the scenes

The tee, along with other musically-inspired scalefish, such as the doo, ray, mee, faa, see and laa, were first introduced in the 1999 prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace^[2] and associated media. It, along with other aquatic species of Naboo, appeared in The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide, where they were illustrated by Terryl Whitlatch.^[1]
