"The repairs to the Ataraxia are going to be quite extensive I'm afraid, Keeve. Jedi Tarinaa estimates it could be a complete refit."
―OrbaLin, to Keeve Trennis[1]

Tarinaa was a Force-sensitive individual who served as a Jedi of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era.[1] Around 228 BBY,[2] after Jedi Master Keeve Trennis and her crew returned the Jedi flagship Ataraxia to the Jedi Temple on[1] the Core Worlds planet[3] Coruscant, Tarinaa assisted Jedi archivist OrbaLin and[1] the astromech droid[4] KC-78 with repairing the vessel. When OrbaLin spoke with Trennis about the repairs to the Ataraxia, he informed her that they would be quite extensive, before noting that Tarinaa had estimated the repairs could result in a complete refit.[1]

Behind the scenes

Tarinaa was mentioned in flashbacks in The High Republic: Tempest Breaker, a 2024 audio drama written by Cavan Scott and published as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[5] Phase III.[6] The spelling of the Jedi's name was later confirmed with the release of the audio drama's script in 2025.[1]

  2. Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force takes place one year and six weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and its events span a few months, it must be set in 228 BBY. The section of The High Republic: Tempest Breaker that includes the mention of Tarinaa takes place shortly after the events of Temptation of the Force, therefore placing it around that year.
