A targeting beacon was a device that allowed starships to bomb a location regardless of the weather conditions. In 3640 BBY during the battle of Kalandis Seven Colonel Jace Malcom gave a satchel of targeting beacons to Sergeant Shanra Immel, which she planted on the local spaceport to enable Republic fighters to bomb it.
