- "I've heard the stories all right. So has half the the Outer Rim. About the all-powerful Jedi who's been traveling from world-to-world, righting wrongs with his "magical stone". You've painted a target on your back, old friend. But worse, you have no idea of the arcane danger you've unleashed. "
- ―Barnabas Vim, to Tar'ak Borran
Tar'ak Borran was a human Jedi Wayfinder. Over a century before[1] around 228 BBY,[2] Borran used an Echo Stone to help people in need in the Outer Rim. Jedi Master Barnabas Vim, an old friend of Borran who was searching for Echo Stones, heard the stories and eventually found him on the planet Petris Major. Vim convinced Borran to relinquish the Echo Stone, the power of which was dangerous, but Vim agreed to first assist Borran with preventing a wave from flooding an Oolorian settlement. After the two Jedi successful raised a dam to prevent the flood, Borran reluctantly relinquished the stone and told Vim the way to the planet where the stones originated.[1]
