Tallaso was a planet[4] situated in the Tallaso system, a part of the D'Aelgoth sector[1] in the Western Reaches portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Human Riggins Delahrg served as the Imperial governor of Tallaso. He extorted money from Tallaso's native planetary government and took bribes from galactic business consortiums and crime syndicates that wished to exploit the planet's resources. Delahrg's position ensured a comfortable life for him and was powerful on a local scale—although it was relatively unimportant in the wider context of the Empire.[4]
After the Empire began to fragment following the Battle of Endor[4] of 4 ABY,[5] Imperial support was withdrawn from Tallaso. Subsequently, the planet's populace rose up and ousted Delahrg, leading him to steal anything he could and then flee, with the former governor eventually traveling to the Vandron system, which had the closest functioning Imperial bureaucracy.[4]
Behind the scenes
Tallaso was mentioned in the 1995 sourcebook Heroes & Rogues, authored by Rick Stuart and Paul Sudlow and published for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Tallaso system, and therefore the planet, in grid square K-17.[3]
