clone wars fake death
i remember reading about that, do we have a link?Meesa yoda 21:44, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
It happened in Yoda: Dark Rendezvous
A Little to Add to the Powers and Abillities
It seems to me that Yoda may have been either bonded in some way to every member of the Jedi Order, or extremely clairvoyent, as he was about the only one who sensed all the Order 66 deaths. All the other Jedi had no idea what was happening. That and he was able to sense Anakins anguish at the death of his mother, and know that it was Anakins There are probably three reasons for this: 1. Special abillity from being Grand Master of the Jedi Order, therefore he had at least some insight to all of them. 2. As he had spent at least some time training just about every member of the Jedi Order, he may have developed force bonds with all of them. 3. He was just that clairvoyent. Anyway, it seemed like this was barely touched on in the Powers and Abillities section. Is it worth expanding? Jedigeneral 18:06, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
I remember reading somewhere that it was not Anakin that he was sensing when his mother died, but it was Qiu Gon's dissapointment towards anakin that he could sense. --Admrial Thrawn 03:10, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
More speculation
In "Battle in the Senate" section.
This article makes several assertions that simply cannot possibly be substantiated by watching the scene in the movie, or even the entire 6 movie series.
There is absolutely nothing in any of the movies that tells us Yoda had a "Farseeing" episode in the middle of the fight. Additionally, there is nothing in the movie to substantiate claims about Yoda "Molding" or "redirecting" the Emperor's Force Lightning in this battle.Craftmatic 14:21, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yoda's glimpse of the future during the fight is described in the official novelisation of Revenge of the Sith. About the lightning, many sources, including the movie's script say he was deflecting/redirecting the lightning, as User:Cull Tremayne explained at Talk:Force Deflection. In the future, I suggest you read the "Sources" "Appearences" and "Notes and References" sections of articles to see where the information comes from. Also, if you click on the little numbers in the text, it will take you directly to the references section, where you can see where that specific peice of information came from. Yoda was warned because the Light Siders suddenly got smaller and the Dark Side grew stronger. He felt the Dark Side of the Emperor in the clones
Is this article about Yoda or Star Wars history?
The section 'Seperatist Crisis' would appear to be more about the Seperatist Crisis than about Yoda. Since this is an article on Yoda, shouldn't it revolve more directly about his involvement in the crisis than about the crisis itself? For example, does a section mentioning the attempted assisination on Padame really belong in a Yoda article? —Unsigned comment by 99.156.135.206 (talk • contribs)
1.1 Cleanup
I believe that Yoda didn't lost the fight because neither him or Palpatine could fight anylonger ( because they were exhausted) and clone troopers wre on there way. (after the call of Mas Amedda).
Duel in the Senate
- "I have waited a long time for this moment, my little green friend ... At last, the Jedi are no more."
"Not if anything to say about it, I have! [...] At an end your rule is, and not short enough it was." - ―Palpatine and Yoda[src]
As Palpatine waited for word from his apprentice, Yoda entered the office. Quickly dispatching Sidious' guards by Force-pushing them into the wall, Yoda confronted Palpatine, who seemed surprised at his survival and attacked Yoda with Force lightning. His disgust soon turned to delight as he realized his wish to fight the Jedi Grand Master had come true. Yoda quickly fought back with a Force push that sent the Sith Lord across the room and into his chair. As Palpatine tried to flee, Yoda jumped in front of him and pulled out his lightsaber. Palpatine then drew his lightsaber and so the duel began.[1]
[[:File:YodaDuel.jpg|thumb|left|200px|Yoda and Emperor Palpatine duel in the Grand Convocation Chamber.]] The duel moved into the Senate, where the two Force-users engaged in a saber duel on the Emperor's Podium. The two fought, with Sidious managing to gain the upper hand, but barely. The fight tore apart most of the Senate Chamber as Palpatine was trying to crush the Jedi Master by Force-pushing Senator podiums at him. The Grand Master of the Jedi Order and the Dark Lord of the Sith were counterpoised. As the duel progressed, Yoda grew weaker, while his opponent, Darth Sidious, grew stronger.[2] He could not hold up much longer against the Dark Lord of the Sith and had to end the duel, and quickly. Yoda confronted Palpatine once again and Palpatine projected Force lightning at Yoda. The attack tore the lightsaber from Yoda's hand, therefore disarming him. Sidious almost had Yoda, but the Jedi Master managed to catch the lightning and begin to mold it. During the fight his vision pierced the veil of the dark side and he was able to see a glimpse of the future. What he might have seen was unclear, but one thing is certain—Yoda gained an insight that bore the hope for the galaxy and he could not risk dying there.[2]
Yoda continued to mold the Dark Lord's Force lightning until, in an explosion of the Force, Yoda returned the lightning to its source. The blast hurled them apart, ending the battle. Both Masters were able to grasp the edge of nearby Senate pods, with Sidious barely managing to right himself and achieve the high ground. Yoda, however, was unable to maintain his grasp, and fell down to the floor of the Senate Chamber. He fled and escaped through several service pipes, with his small size proving advantageous in this moment, and met up with Bail Organa, who hurried him away in his speeder as Yoda mused about his failure. The two left to the asteroid colony of Polis Massa.[1]
Expand Rugosa.
Can someone expand the Rugosa section?I mean the Gunray and Malevolence section's are bigger.(Fisto-Arsix 01:26, 14 April 2009 (UTC))
His name?
There seems to be a number of theories on the origin of his name and I have another one. Some years back I was traveling sri-lanka and there I noticed that the special buddist tempels, only found in sri-lanka, are called dagobars and the biggest one of those is located next to a lake that's called Yoda.

Main reason why I'm liking it better for the infobox is that he's facing forward, not partially to the side as in the current image. Thoughts? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 02:25, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Future sight
It says that Yoda's ability to predict the future was only rivaled by darth Sidious, but what about Kreia? I think that it should say "rivaled only by Darth Sidious and Kreia"
Bitterness
I think Yoda was embittered when Luke found him. Remember what Yoda pronounced? He claimed once you go down the dark path, you'll never escape. You're doomed. The dark side will consume you. He'd lost faith at that point. Something about that should be in the article JAF1970 07:33, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
- What you think is completely Original Research and would never be added as unsoured info. MauserComlink 13:19, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
though, it ould be that yoda knew with the emperor and vader there to encourage and trap him there, luke would find it near impossible to escape the dark side compared to when he might have turned to the jedi for hel 2 decades earlier 81.141.216.146 00:56, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Yoda and the Darkside...
Did Yoda ever have any close encounters with the Dark Side of the Force, such as almost crossing over, etc etc.
- yes, check the book dark rendezvous Njdevils28 04:19, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
- i'm not so certain, as while yoda said he was considering joining the dark side, this could have been an act, the only definite reference to the possibility is when dooku imagined what would have happened should yoda turn, but no indication that he nearly turned
lightsaber cane
what is his lightsaber cane called? —Unsigned comment by 76.115.58.243 (talk • contribs)
- i don't think he uses a Lightsaber cane, he uses a small lightsaber.Altyrell 03:02, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
Yoda uses a Shoto lightsaber. normally intended to be a smaller saber for your off hand in Duel Lightsaber fighting. Though the concept of him using a lightsaber cane would be really sick. Maybe a lightsaber pike —Unsigned comment by Imvaderbitch (talk • contribs)
another jedi had somthing like a lightsaber cane. it was the aster that helped ashoka find her lightsaber in the clonewars episode. but his lightsaber was just inside the cane and had to be taken out of it to be used. 69.115.204.217 13:10, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
- It was Tera Sinube. If you had actually read through the article before asking, you could have find out that Yoda uses a Shoto. -- 1358 (Talk) 13:15, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
Somebody please fix superfluous apostrophe.
Later, before becoming one with the Force in 4 ABY, the exiled Jedi Master was responsible for the instruction of Luke Skywalker who would use Yoda's training as a basis for the creation of a New Jedi Order, after defeating the Sith. Following his death, Master Yoda retained his identity within the Force and was revered as among the most legendary Jedi Master's of all time by Skywalker's reconstituted Order. —Unsigned comment by Fookite (talk • contribs)

Young Yoda
Ok, I don't think some random person's art contest entry can be strictly classified as cannon, or am I wrong? Sorry, but that backstory about Yoda's old Jedi Master sullies the mystery of the character, makes little sense, and reeks of fanfic nonsense. I don't think any real cannon exists to explain Yoda; his species, his homeworld, his reason for choosing exile on Dagobah... none of it. —Unsigned comment by 67.82.134.189 (talk • contribs)
- It's spelled canon, and yes, it is canon. Chack Jadson (Talk) 18:19, March 6, 2010 (UTC)
What type of canon is it then? A fan contest has to be lowest form. If Yoda's backstory is ever fully revealed, I doubt it will include all of this. —Unsigned comment by 67.82.134.189 (talk • contribs)
Quote
Guys I am not a Star Wars fan. I know virtually nothing about the series and am just stopping by to check out some info. I do know however, one of Yoda's famous quotes: "Do or do not. There is no try." What I am saying is that you should take it from someone who knows little. This quote is very famous and is known by people who aren't even fans of the series. So I highly recommend you make it your main quote and move the current main quote somewhere else. --Built Tall 04:13, May 21, 2010 (UTC)
rule of two
while discussing the sith with mace windu at qui-gon-jinns funeral it is mentioned that there are only two sith, however in the darth bane trilogy, the beginnings of the rule of two, the sith hide themselves from the jedi, not being revealed until palpatines takeover in 19 BBY, so how can they possibly know about the rule of two? Swordsquirrel 21:50, June 6, 2010 (UTC)
A padawan named Kibh Jeen, re-discovered an ancient Sith fortress on the planet Almas. He went insane and killed his master, and joined a pirate gang. While on Almas he discovered evidence of the rule of two, but as he was a dark jedi, and insane, the jedi, after killing him, decided his story was just crazy-talk. So after Obi-Wan killed Darth Maul, Yoda simply realized that Kibh Jeen wasn't just making things up after all. VadersFist666 21:59, June 6, 2010 (UTC)

I think that the picture caption under the "Attempts on the Senator's Life" section should not read "Yoda and other council members" because three of the other jedi that accompany him in the meeting are not on the council; being Luminara Unduli, Kit Fisto, and Barris Offee. Only Windo, Mundi, and Koon were also on the council at the time. —Unsigned comment by 99.155.162.214 (talk • contribs)
Yoda in The Force Unleashed II
I was reading the Dark Side Cave article and was surprised to learn that Yoda met Galen Marek's clone outside of the Dark Side Cave. Can somebody please update Yoda's page regarding his interaction with Marek's clone? After 32 BBY, everything is movie-related. Adding a section with the dtails of his encounter with Marek's clone also means that the Behind the Scenes section must be updated with whoever voices Yoda in The Force Unleashed II (I don't own it, so I have no idea).
Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II follow. "During the birth of the Rebellion, the effects of living in close proximity to the cave masked Yoda's strong connection to the Force when the clone of Galen Marek spoke with him briefly before entering the cave to look for the answers he sought. "
"Brought you here, the galaxy has. Your path, clearly, this is." "You know what I'm looking for." "Something lost. A part of yourself, perhaps. That which you seek, inside, you will find." --Galen Marek's clone met by Yoda at the entrance to the cave
From Galen Marek's page, under Cloned: "Leaving Kota on Malastare to return to the Rebel fleet, the clone took the Rogue Shadow to Dagobah, where he sought wisdom in a cave guarded by a diminutive creature who was in fact Yoda, the exiled Grand Master of the Jedi Order and one of the last survivors of the Great Jedi Purge."
