Wild Space vs Unknown Region
I am still confused about New Canon's relation between Wild Space and Unknown Regions.
Is Wild Space a subset of Unknown Regions? Or the other way around? Or are they referring to generally the same area? Or are they two separate areas with/without an intersecting area?
Any clarifications on this matter will be very valuable. [ pepoluan talk ] 11:34, February 8, 2016 (UTC)
- Woohooo... someone actually asked my question to Rebels Recon, and Pablo answered in Rebels Recon #2.14!
- In essence:
- "Unknown Regions" is like a jungle, you know its boundaries, but you don't really know what's inside.
- "Wild Space" is simply outside the map.
- So, they are two separate areas without any intersection. [ pepoluan talk ] 09:20, February 11, 2016 (UTC)
Major spoilers?
The article has a "major spoilers" tag. But what's the major spoiler?
The tag was added along with a quote by Kanan: "Those systems are behind the Outer Rim, in Wild Space. Not on any map." That quote doesn't spoil anything, except for the fact that Kanan, like most people in the galaxy, knew what Wild Space meant.
If the tag was meant to warn people about the revelation from the same episode as the quote, that the legendary original Lasat homeworld existed and was in Wild Space, that's not a spoiler either. The fact that it's the same planet as their prophesied new homeworld--and, more importantly, that there are millions of Lasat still living there--might be, but the article doesn't even hint at that. --50.0.128.185 20:11, March 18, 2016 (UTC)
- It probably has more to do with the information related to the Adventures in Wild Space series. And given that that's an ongoing series that's going to continue for quite a while, it's probably best that the tag stays. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:32, March 18, 2016 (UTC)
"vast cluster of unknown star systems"?
This phrase tends to limit the size of the Wild Space to a certain region, while both SWR and the Galactic Atlas implicitly state that "anything outside the Outer Rim" is the Wild Space. I propose we reword this sentence to reflect that meaning. [ pepoluan talk ] 05:50, June 6, 2017 (UTC)
- Definition changed to follow the explicit definition in the Galactic Atlas. GA, after all, is a "reference book/source", compared to "Escape". [ pepoluan talk ] 09:33, July 8, 2017 (UTC)
