pronoun labyrinth

I need to comprehend this before I can rewrite it to make it comprehensible, but a bunch of pronoun antecedents are currently ambiguous: "Tonra and Sabé had spent six weeks in Mos Espa as part of their cover to free slaves, but they were unaware that Tatooine already had an antislavery movement. By the time they learned, it was too late: they didn't trust them, as they had been trying to get in with local criminals." My best guess: "By the time [Tonra and Sabé] learned [of the existing movement], it was too late: [members of the existing movement] didn't trust [Tonra and Sabé], as [Tonra and Sabé] had been trying to get in with local criminals." Yes? No? Asithol (talk) 03:06, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Yes that's correct Lewisr (talk) 03:10, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Adding Tonra to LGBTQ+ Individuals

Like for Versé, I would like to propose that we add Tonra to the LGBTQ+ Individuals category. E.K. Johnston has specified in multiple Tweets (which are cited on this page as well as in WP:PRIDE) that she intended for Tonra to be bi- or pansexual. In the past, Wookieepedia has used authorial intent to "confirm" characters' queer identities. Therefore, I believe Johnston's Tweets should suffice for adding Tonra to the category. • BtS update done and re-added; these things generally stick on pages easier with the proper cites in place (if you need help getting all the cites on-page can always ask someone, but things tend to get reverted for better or worse when not prosified in BtS 'cause of sourcing rules and all). Thanks for finding the second Tweet, and it also spurred someone adding Armitage proper to the article which was nice. I do want to note though that, while I have updated Versé's BtS as well, EK notes that "as it isn't actually "in canon,"" and, combined with her comment that she (her words) "chickened out" of making her trans because she felt she couldn't do it justice. Particularly the "isn't actually "in canon"" part is, quite unfortunate, but nevertheless what she said. At least to the other editors I'd consutled with, Tonra is stated several times to be bi and pan and only hinted on due to lack of focus and/or time(?) and should certainly be added, particularly as EK's mention of the journalist scene confirms she had included some form of mention of his attractions, which she could later clarify with authorial intent. Flip side, Versé other Tweets read as something she considered writing, but ultimately chose not to and generally took care to clarify was only something from her heart, which would have it fall under the personal theories on in-universe elements, as that doesn't have similar in-book proof to clarify or expound upon, combined with the other comments pointing to it being cut content/a proposed idea not formally used, rather than canonical intention.
