There was a thought bomb in Darth Maul? Kuralyov 06:40, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Yes, how is the Darth Maul comic a source for this article? Kaje 01:14, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Deaths

  • This article doesn't seem entirely correct; from what I gather, only the Jedi and Sith within the caves were drained-- that Jedi guy who sat outside despaired but survived, and a prossession of people passes in the background shortly after. This would also mean that Bane and Rain were out of range, and that's why they survived. Doesn't explain Darovit, but still. --Fade 20:07, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
    • The guy outside was a regular Republic soldier - not a Jedi. QuentinGeorge 10:36, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Darovit survived the thought bomb because it was designed by ancient Sith sorcerers to desrtoy any being with a considerable command over the force. By the time the thought bomb had been detonated, Daraovit's power had greatly diminished and therefore he was uneffected. --Starwarsguru 01:15, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Isn't that just the effect of the thought bomb? The bomb being the invisible force bunch Kaan had when the Jedi arrived--Sauron18 11:50 01 July 2006 (CDT)

  • Anyone? --Sauron18 21:20, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't mean to annoy or anything, but I do want to ask again if anyone has some source that says that is the thought bomb, since in the comic this is after the bomb has imploded and it's some force contraption that trapped all the force users in it....--Sauron18 21:01, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

If you want to find out about the thought bomb, read the following books: Darth Bane:Path of Destruction, Darth Bane:Rule of Two, Jedi VS Sith (comic), Star Wars: The Complete Visual Guide. --starwarsguru

As for those questions on the effect of the thought bomb; The thought bomb only traps those who are force sensitive and within the blast's radius. Darth Bane didn't perish because he was out of the range of the thought bombs blast radius. Darovit survived because, although he did have the force, he wasn't strong enough to be effected by the blast, as described in Darth Bane:Rule of Two. And last but not least, Kaan and Qordis 'came back' because Bane, even though he was out of the blast radius, suffered some effect of the thought bomb, it caused him to have unbearable headaches and hallucinations of Kaan and Qordis.--starwarsguru

death by thought bomb

isn't it true that if you die by a thought bomb your spirt is detroyed then how did Kaan come back?

and If you master the thought bomb do you still die no matter want?74.129.45.167 06:45, 7 November 2006 (UTC)tonyman1989

  • Seeing as the Valley of the Jedi was filled with the spirits of the dead, that hardly seems likely. A better question is, are your spirit trapped on the place of death when killed by a thought bomb?DarthMRN

it said in Darth Bane: Path of Destruction your spirit was trapped in some place.74.129.45.167 02:14, 8 November 2006 (UTC)tonyman1989

  • Should be included in the article then.DarthMRN

it's not 74.129.45.167 14:14, 9 November 2006 (UTC)tonyman1989

  • That was a hint. You have read the book, so why don't you include it?DarthMRN 18:56, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

In the complete visual guide, it says that the spirits were trapped in an ovoid. Oh yeah, is it me, or is it like the ark in raiders of the lost ark?ruusan 04:27, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Who, what, when, where, why, and how?

Where was the thought bomb originally developed? Presumably, it dates from the ancient Sith Empire, but no canon I have found can back this up. How many Dark Lords were needed to perform the ritual? And what were the words used? How long did it take? Did it trap the spirits of those at the center of the blast? Were non-Force-sensitives affected? (Canon suggests no on both counts, but not in any certain terms). It is said that Lord Hoth had heard stories about thought bombs at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Where did those stories originate? Because I doubt the thought bomb was employed against the Jedi during the Great Hyperspace War, and during the Great Sith War there were only a handful of darksiders with the knowledge and ability to use the technique. Did it happen during the millennium after Darth Ruin's Schism, or is Drew Karpyshyn already hard at work on KOTOR III? Because that would be f***in' awesome! Azra Namor 04:53, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Pictures

ThoughtBomb-JvS4

The explosion in this picture isn't from the thought bomb, it's a storm created by Bane and the other Sith Lords combining their powers. It's not even from the same issue. I apologize if some other source said that they were using a thought bomb at that point too, but I don't see how they could be the same since the effects are so different and Githany and Kopecz weren't willing to participate in the thought bomb.InSaneWeTrust 01:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

  • You are correct. The Panel to Panel book that the image was scanned from had it labeled as the devastation caused by the thought bomb, which I now know is incorrect, as you stated. I've move the image to the correct place in the Sixth Battle of Ruusan article. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:16, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Blast Radius

In the article, it mention that all force-sensitives were killed. The question I want to know is how big is the blast radius of the thought bomb.

if something is not mentioned in the article, either it's not known, or no one has updated it yet. Ralphjedimaster 02:48, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Image demonstrating effect of bomb

As this is a FA, I refrain from adding things at will. So I ask, would it be possible to add an additional image to this article, probably towards the bottom of the body that would illustrate the damaging effects of being caught by the thought bomb? I am thinking of Githany, as her flesh is fried from her bones. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 01:23, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

  • All set.—Tommy 9281 Wednesday, July 20, 2011, 01:48 UTC
    • Why thank you Tommy. I should have just been Bold. ;) -- Riffsyphon1024 02:05, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Link to the wrong subject

In the Risks section is the following phrase: "...even experienced hallucinations...". Here "hallucinations is a link to "Illusion" which is a redirect to Mind trick/Legends#Force illusion. I don't think the "Force illusion" is what is meant by "hallucinations" here. Since this is a FA, I didn't want to just change the link to hallucinations (redlink) or remove the link altogether. Thoughts, anybody? - Esjs(Talk) 21:40, November 21, 2013 (UTC)

  • Dang it, nevermind. [[hallucinations]] is a redlink, but not [[Hallucination/Legends|hallucinations]]. - Esjs(Talk) 21:43, November 21, 2013 (UTC)

Rebellion era?

The first body image shows a Sullustan in Rebel Pilot gear running from what is apparently a Thought Bomb. There is a source that says the Ruusan TB was the only known one, so does that mean that the Sullustan image is a fictional event in-universe? If not, wouldn't a Rebellion era tag be needed in the infobox? --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 23:06, June 28, 2015 (UTC)
