Legends or canon
Is this a Legends only source or is it a canon only source? DarthRevan1173

- This is probably the strangest ongoing thing right now in terms of whether it's Canon or Legends, because most of the material it covers is non-canon Expand Universe stuff that has not been confirmed to have been re-canonized in any other source; the BBY-ABY dating system being one of them. But according to our article, it's going to cover Rebels stuff too, so who knows? Maybe Leland Chee will crawl out of his bomb shelter and tell us someday. - Has this been figured out yet? The individual issues still are not marked as Canon. Red Heathen (talk) 21:38, June 14, 2020 (UTC)
Canonicity?
There are references to canon events in the books, like Rebels stuff, but yet the links on the issue pages direct to Legends events? Confusion is arising from these issues. SenatorConfer (talk) 03:59, July 1, 2018 (UTC)
Solved canonicity
The canonicity of this is most definitely Legends. The page for the comic on the Star Wars website (here) includes the tag, "Expanded Universe." I propose that everything in the fact files are Legends, except the deliberately non-canon and Canon content, i.e Rebels. AmazinglyCool (talk) 15:09, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
- The link provided is to the general page for Star Wars News. It is no longer helpful. Did you or anyone else get a screenshot or archive a date-appropriate shot? Red Heathen (talk) 20:45, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
- The link isn't entirely relevant know, but the backup link can be found on this page. Currently Editoronthewiki and I are working on figuring out the Canon-Legends split of the magazine. AmazinglyCool

- Have yall gotten this figured out yet? Have you asked anyone from the Story Group? Red Heathen (talk) 21:04, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- BTW, an archived page of the 2014 FF website has a 2015 copyright date, if this matters: "THE OFFICIAL STAR WARS FACT FILE IS © 2015. LUCASFILM LTD. AND ™ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. USED UNDER AUTHORIZATION." This makes me wonder if it is canon. At the same time, though, the first issue was released in January 2014, which was before Disney officially took the reins, as announced on the official SW website. However, you'll notice that this news release was archived in July 2014, which is after Disney took charge. It could mean that the 2014 FF are canon, or it could be that the web page had yet to be cleaned up, removed. Red Heathen (talk) 21:15, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
