X-wing, designed for the Empire or Rebellion?

Under History it states that X-wing was originally designed for the Empire? I can't seem to find a source for that. Most of the reference books and source books say the X-wing was secretly designed for the Rebellion.Heartofajedi (talk) 13:36, 6 May 2023 (UTC)

  • Incom, the creator, was nationalized by the Empire. The Rebellion helped Incom staff defect with the X-wing plans and prototypes. You see this play out in Empire at War, at the least. UberSoldat93 ClanMudhornSignet-Redemption (talk) 13:41, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
    • I was under the impression from the reference books and sourcebooks I've read that the X-wing was designed before they were nationalized. Star Wars: Incredible Cross-Sections even states that the X-wing was a top-secret project. I can't seem to find a source that specifically states it was designed for the Empire. Seems a bit odd considering the design team was supposedly sympathetic to the Rebellion. Confederation

Does anyone have a source for X-Wings being used by the Confederation? I can't see to find anything in the Legacy books and its the only faction in the infobox that doesn't have a source associated with it. Tarvin Calaan (talk) 21:21, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
