Starbird and Starbird

I recommend that instead of separating this starbird page, and the Alliance one, we unify them on this page.AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 03:23, December 6, 2014 (UTC)

  • Unless there's a source I'm not aware of, I don't even think "Alliance Starbird" (or anything like it) is a canonical term for the Rebel Alliance, so—per the notability clause for canon pages—we wouldn't be able to create a page for the Rebel Alliance starbird anyway. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:29, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
    • Excellent. I don't even know we added that term to the page. I will remove it posthaste.AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 03:43, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
      • I remember I had originally created a combined page for the canonical starbird months ago, about both Sabine's and the Alliance's, but it was changed due to there not being any verifiable sources that it was the same starbird. Glad to see that this new development ended up happening. Darth Ravigious (talk) 03:57, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
        • It still says on the page that it was used by the Rebel Alliance. If we're keeping that, then we should add pictures of that, as well as those appearances. 03:59, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
          • Be bold. I've added Episode IV.AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 04:01, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
            • I actually just removed the references to the Rebel Alliance. Obviously the Starbird will probably be the inspiration for the Rebel Alliance logo, but as of now, we have no canonical source for that (unless someone knows something I don't). This page should remain about Sabine's symbol. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:20, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
              • Can we remove the "disturbing lack of sources" tag, then? It looks like all the Star Wars Rebels stuff is there. Or is there still something that's missing? ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:39, December 7, 2014 (UTC)

Twilight Company starbird

In the excerpt for Battlefront: Twilight Company, there's a part that reads: “crudely stenciled with the starbird symbol of the Rebel Alliance.” Since this is canon confirmation that the Alliance symbol is known as the starbird, should this page be overhauled at some point to accommodate this new information? Cevan (talk) 21:42, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

  • I think we need to be patient and treat them as two separate symbols until we see how Star Wars Rebels depicts the evolution of the symbol. We don't need to rush into adding information when we really don't have any. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:58, July 2, 2015 (UTC)
    • I suppose, although I'm not entirely sure how we don't have any information when we have confirmation that the Alliance emblem is known as the starbird as well. Obviously we can't see that the Alliance's starbird comes from Sabine's starbird, but both emblems are still both known as the starbird. Cevan (talk) 22:22, July 2, 2015 (UTC)
      • If you want to create a page called "Starbird (Rebel Alliance)" or something then I'd say go for it, but the question you asked was about overhauling this page to include the Rebel Alliance Starbird. And in that case, because we don't know the exact connection between them or how one might evolve into the other, we should treat them as two separate logos for now. Some day, I'm sure, we will merge them once we know more. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:28, July 2, 2015 (UTC)
        • I see. Alright then, thanks Brandon! Cevan (talk) 22:33, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

In Ultimate Star Wars the symbol is called as "Rebel Alliance starbird" in a small section about Luke Skywalker's rebel pilot helmet (page 255). I created a separate page for that and included a mention of resemblance between Sabine's starbird in Bts section. Jaewade (talk) 03:51, August 4, 2015 (UTC)

The bird and the symbol

Shouldn't the starbird symbol and the starbird creature have separate entries? Sabine's journal even includes a more realistic sketch of the bird. --LelalMekha (talk) 14:48, August 24, 2015 (UTC)

Rename?

Per the Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, we know that a Starbird appeared on s rebel pilot's helmet. Ad in the guide, the Starbird was given the name "Wren Phoenix crest". A rename is in order, I think. That way we can also move Starbird (creature) to just "Starbird". –Nivlacanator(talk) 06:00, January 11, 2017 (UTC)
