- Moved the text from Pylat Bird to the temp page, is not copyvio and likely accurate. --Thinortolan 13:10, 5 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Appearance
This looks nothing like the pylat in The Wildlife of Star Wars. Cutch 22:30, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Is there an image in that book? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Yeah, I don't have it with me (college), but the pylat in there is really tubby and has big @$$ claws on its wingtips—like fingers, almost. Not like this glorified cockatoo pic. Cutch 04:45, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, this image came from the Episode I Visual Dictionary. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- ...specifically identified as a pylat? Cutch 12:51, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. It's the Neimoidian bird cage, and there's a line pointing to the bird that says "Pylat bird". Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Meh... okay. I'd say it looks more like a neekoflight than a pylat, but que sera.
- Do we even know what a neekoflight looks like? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:10, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Again, they're depicted in Wildlife. Cutch 01:57, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Can you provide an image? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Funny, the image I described is on the article already... Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Perhaps we should say in the article there might be different varieties of pylat birds (to acknowledge both the clawed and non-clawed wingtips). LelalMekha 22:57, February 2, 2011 (UTC)
Renaming
I moved from pylat bird to just pylat, because that's what Luceno does with it. Since Darth Plagueis is our major narrative source for this species, it should determine how we should name the article. In several instances, Luceno has characters refer to the species as just "pylat", lower case — in exactly the same way that people talk about parakeets or budgies or whatever. Pylat bird, however, should probably be retained as redirect, due to earlier usage in publications of the 2000s.
