jango as mandalore

  • doesnt jango take his off all the time Unsigned comment by Jaceb (talk • contribs)
    • Yes. But Jango isn't wearing the traditional Mandalore mask and 4000 years have gone by so things just wear out and are forgotten. --RedemptionTalk Uglykotoricon 17:51, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
  • This article is total BS. The reason Canderous doesn't take his mask off is because he's ashamed (in the lightside version) or because he got so hurt by Revan (in the darkside version). And TOTJ never mentioned that the Mandalore could never remove his mask. Kuralyov 16:31, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
    • I created this article and I admit; I knew some Mandalores did take off there mask mask from time to time.but Jango didnt have a legion of Mandalorians following him when he took off his mask, and Canderous didn`t take off his mask once he got it....Oh...should this be included in behind the scenes?-Doshalo^

Objection

  • Despite what Canderous says, he isn't wearing the original mask. This should be noted here. QuentinGeorge 22:27, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Uh... the problem is that we don't have any source that confirms that. Yes, the masks look different, but these things happen all the time when game designers don't do their research. It may be a simple game mechanics issue. Why don't you just note the discrepancy in a 'Behind the scenes' section? –SentryTalk 23:47, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
      • Yes, it does loot completely different. I know that this is never stated, but I believe that Revan was supposed to be wearing the original mask, taken when he killed Mandalore the Ultimate. (His mask looks nearly identical to the actual mask, except for the color; on the other hand, Canderous's is a different color, shape, and is brand new.) Since this can't be confirmed, it shouldn't be placed in the article; however since it is never confirmed that Canderous has the original mask, it should be taken out. • Since the front of Canderous' helmet more or less matches up with Mandalore's mask except for it being silver, my guess is that Mandalore the Ultimate is going to give it an upgrade and incorporate it into a helmet sometime soon. After all, every mandalorian Canderous encounters recognises that he is wearing Mandalore's Mask/Helmet, so one assumes that it is the one Ultimate was known to have been wearing at the time of his death. We'll see (Ulicus 20:13, 14 December 2006 (UTC))
          • I agree, however I would like to point out that "carrying the Mask of Mandalore" may simply be metonomous for having the title of Mandalore. Anyway, there is too little information to tell. 141.154.242.143 23:00, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Fanon?

Their have been many Mandalorians who have tried to make false duplicate helmets, so they could take over, but in the end they were caught and killed by Mandalore himself.
  • Where does this info come from? Is sounds like speculation to me… –SentryTalk 05:43, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
  • yes it does--doshalo^

On another note, is there any actual evidence that the mask originally belonged to Mandalore the First? –SentryTalk 08:47, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Edited

  • I took out everything that was fanon or questionable. Bredd13 22:14, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Mask. Not helmet!

I disagree with the changing of the name of this article. The only time the mask appears as a helmet is in KotOR II after Canderous had repaired and modified it. The modifications were suited to fit Canderous in his dying state, and it is unlikey that any other Mandalore after him would find it fit to keep the helmet the way it is, thus stripping it down to its original form.

I think that the topic name should be changed back. Also, Mandalore the first and the unknown mandalore were possible bearers, and this should be noted in the article, as it previously was untill someone changed it completelydoshalo^ 21:40, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree, change it back. Whenever I read "Mandalore's helmet" I imagine only Canderous' helmet, not Mandalore's mask as it appeared originally and in the current comics. It's also the canonical term, "Seeing the fallen mask, the warrior knows their traditions must continue" is mentioned in the last issue of the Sith War comics. I think Canderous also mentioned it as a mask. SarimThiri 06:11, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
