Correct article name

I don't believe "shuttle" should be capitalized, as it's not part of the proper name—the only part of the name that is proper is "Lambda". -- Aidje 13:05, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Time

Where do we know that the Shuttles were used around the Battle of Hoth? the X-Wing game indicates that they were around even before Yavin 62.74.5.70 20:41, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • X-wing also shows that A-wings were used then, which cannot be true. - TopAce
    • Technically, A-wings were in use around the time of the Battle of Yavin. Although not A-wings, they were the ship's predecesor. Which means, the shuttles could have been in use before Yavin. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 22:55, 11 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Old Republic

This is the same shuttle used by the Jedi Exile to go to Telos' surfice and pole... this is older than its written here. Sitenl 11:48, 31 Jul 2005 (UTC)

  • check out the KOTOR II shuttle:

[1] notice the differences...especially the smaller dorsal fin?JustinGann 09:16, 4 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Proper designation?

If the shuttle from RotS is listed as a "Theta-class T-2c" shuttle shouldn't this be listed as "Lambda-class T-4a" shuttle? I'm not sure if we have any sort of official standard for these things. -- Darth Culator 22:23, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)

    • It doesn't really matter. It's the same shuttle, after all. It would be nice to have the "official" class of the shuttle listed, though. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 23:35, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)
      • It matters for wholeness and consistency. I would include that if accurate. --SparqMan 01:00, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Some thoughts on Lambdas

LOL, first of all the Lambda is somewhat similar to the ship in the KOTOR games, but definitely not the same, Sitenl! The ship in KOTOR was markedly different in appearance!

As for designation, T-4a was, if Iunderstand correctly, a variant of Lamba-class, there were other variants, although not to my knowledge named. I think there are at least three variants, the luxury, military, and cargo models, not sure which one is the T-4a. Assumedly, there are other Theta models besides T-2c. As for age, the Lambda-class is actually first used 19 BBY, note that it is released for use at some point after the novel Dark Lord but before the short story in the Ultimate Guide to Darth Vader, since Vader still flies a Theta in DL but flies a Lambda in UG (incorrect illustration disregarded). JustinGann 21:10, 25 Nov 2005 (UTC)

  • What do you mean by "Dark Lord"? I'm assuming it's Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:11, 25 Nov 2005 (UTC)
    • Yes.JustinGann 05:56, 27 Nov 2005 (UTC)
      • Just wanted to make sure, because the link leads to "Dark Lord of the Sith". Admiral J. Nebulax 12:33, 27 Nov 2005 (UTC)
        • According to the CUSWE, "T-4a" was the designation of the militarized variant built by Cygnus Spaceworks. It lists the games X-wing and TIE fighter as sources. Can anyone check this? JimRaynor55 21:16, 29 Dec 2005 (UTC)
          • I thought T-4a was a part of the standard designation. Admiral J. Nebulax 23:29, 29 Dec 2005 (UTC)
          • I don't think that's the case, since the Lambda in the X-wing series has only four forward lasers. —Darth Culator (talk) 01:19, 30 Dec 2005 (UTC)
            • Interesting. However, games get things messed up all the time. Admiral J. Nebulax 12:29, 30 Dec 2005 (UTC)
              • One more reason why LucasArts games should not be considered canon. - TopAce 16:14, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
                • At least not a high level of canon. Admiral J. Nebulax 00:25, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Dark Forces Series

What was the names of the Lambada class shuttles in Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Mysteries of the Sith, and other Dark Forces games?

  • Aren't they already included here? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 20:51, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
    • I can think only of two in the whole games series and they are not named.MoffRebus 20:59, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
      • Figures... That's very typical of a game. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 23:04, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Successor

The Lambda isn't the immediate successor of the Theta. First off, the Kappa is the immediate predecessor of the Lambda, and second, the Greek alphabet is : theta, iota, kappa, lambda, and so on.

  • It is the successor of the Theta-class for this reason: They are both passenger shuttles. The Kappa-class is a troop transport. Plus, the ordering in the Greek alphabet doesn't mean that the Lambda-class came right after the Kappa-class. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:58, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
    • The name was originally meant to imply that the kappa was the most recent ancestor model (Even though functionally closer to the sentinel landing craft) however the theta and mu seem to... not truly "retcon" (since it was never outright stated) but in some way "correct" the implication.SargeLIVES 21:43, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Main Infobox Image

Unit 8311 has taken it upon themself to change the main infobox image again since they can't have their way and put the NEGVV image there. Rather than start an edit war, I'm going to ask for people's opinions before I change it back.
Which of these three images should be the main infobox image? File:Lambda-wingsup.jpg|Option 1 Wings folded (current) File:Shuttle-CHRON.jpg|Option 2 Wings extended (head on) File:T-4a_Lambda-class_Shuttle.jpg|Option 3 Wings extended (angled)

Option 1

Option 2

  1. Needs to be in flight, and No.3 is poor quality - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 21:23, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
  2. Changed my vote. - JMAS 21:41, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
  3. I need a name (Complain here) 21:46, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
  4. Lord OblivionSith holocron30px 21:47, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
  5. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:59, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Option 3

  1. See comments. - JMAS 21:14, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
  2. If not this one, then it should be number two. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:16, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Comments

I think the main image should show the shuttle in flight mode with wings extended. And of options 2 and 3, I think 3 is the better version. - JMAS 21:14, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

  • For the record, I think the two losing pictures should be used in the article anyway. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:22, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
    • Meh, I dunno about #3, there seems to be some muck around the edge of it. Personally, I prefer the head-on version - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 21:23, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
      • What do you mean by "muck around the edge of it"? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:25, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
        • Check the image. A lighter texture around the top and left-hand edges. Looks like a poor scan - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 21:27, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
          • I don't see it. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:30, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
            • I changed my vote. I do think Option 2 is better quality. Jack, as to your concern about the two losers, all three already were/are used in the article, so there is no worry about any of them being dropped. - JMAS 21:41, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
              • Just making sure. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:45, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Just out of curiousity, because I'm not certain what an acceptible timeframe is, how long should I wait before changing the image back? It seems pretty unanimous in favor of Option 2 so far. - JMAS 22:48, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

  • A day, maybe. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 00:13, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
    • That's kinda what I was thinking. I'll give it a full 24 hours, and by the looks of things, change it back tomorrow morning around the time I started this topic. - JMAS 00:18, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
      • Excellent. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 00:21, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

It's been 24 hours and the vote seems unanimous. I reverted the image back to Option 2 - JMAS 18:14, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Great. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:38, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Predessesor

From the new Clone Wars cartoon series http://img443.(that shack with the images).us/img443/7987/cloneshuttlefk8.th.jpg --61.68.244.46 11:32, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

  • That appears to be a modified Theta-class shuttle. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 12:03, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Dimorphism blooper

Shouldn't that be mentioned in BTS? Darth Waluigi 00:07, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

  • You mean like the thing mentioned on the SWTC?[2]Stormie Fan 18:21, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
    • Considering there's been no response to this, I'm just kinda wondering, is this worth mentioning in the article or not?Stormie Fan 18:09, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Senators get Lambdas?

  • In The Force Unleashed (360 and PS3 versions), Bail Organa has a personal Lambda-class shuttle with dark grey highlights... Since he was part of the Imperial Senate, do you think Senators got personal Lambdas? And on another note, in other versions of the game he has the same type of shuttle as Greivous' ship, only white with blue highlights...Stormie Fan 17:24, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
    • Seeing as the Lambda was a diplomatic shuttle, I think it's safe to say that senators had the option of using them as their personal shuttles. And the craft from the other version of TFU is the Sheathipede-class transport shuttle. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 19:44, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
      • Strange that in those versions they use a shuttle commonly used by the CIS with the colors of the CIS on it... In the same version, the dimophism blooper is present, while the 360 and PS3 versions have the correct Lambda.Stormie Fan 23:52, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
        • Actually, I think the colors on the Sheathipede are the same as on the Lambda (the Organa family colors, I assume). But I suppose it's possible that the Sheathipede was used by others than Separatists and Neimoidians. I think the blooper would warrant a Bail Organa's shuttle article, with a BTS explaining the two different shuttles. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 11:09, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Does he have the different ships in the same missions? Which would be the correct one? I do know the SOTG07 says Imperial senators usually used private Theta-class shuttles. VT-16 16:23, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
    • On the mission to Imperial Felucia in the Xbox 360 and PS3 version, it's a Lambda. On the same mission in the PSP version, it's a Sheathipede. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 17:07, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
      • The Wii version also has the Sheathipede, but the comic has the Lambda. JorrelWiki-shrinkableFraajic 17:41, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
        • So we know it's supposed to be a Lambda, but do Senators get them free? The only relation Bail has to the Empire is the senate, and Lambdas aren't available to the public. And I don't see why a senator would steal an Imperial shuttle and use it as transportation.Stormie Fan 18:05, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
          • Well, technically speaking, Bail isn't a "public" buyer since he's in the Imperial Senate, so it's possible they were sold to members of the Senate and the like, although probably at extremely high prices and with a fraction of the features. JorrelWiki-shrinkableFraajic 18:11, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
            • Seeing as the Lambda is the successor to the Theta (which was used by many senators), I'd assume the Lambda was also used by many senators. One Lambda also transports Leia to Kashyyyk, but whether that's her shuttle or Ozzik Sturn's shuttle is hard to tell (in the PSP version, she uses it to get off Kashyyyk after Sturn is killed).
