Han Solo

How do we know that individual from Han Solo 1 is actually supposed to be a Killik in-universe? SilverSunbird (talk) 17:38, 19 September 2021 (UTC)

  • Per the notability policy 'New canon subjects that share a name with a Star Wars Legends counterpart may be assumed to be the same as that Legends counterpart.' And unlike prior depictions of Rakata or Bothan which Lucasfilm have come out and said aren't canon depictions of those (at least for now), there has been no word from Lucasfilm that it isn't a Killik Lewisr (talk) 18:36, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
    • I think what the poster was asking is whether Han Solo 1 and Hyperspace Stories 3 explicitly state that those depicted insectoids are Killiks within the text of those individual issues. If not than you are just assuming that because it looks like a Killik then it is a Killik when in fact it could be any of the many other similar insectoid species. Just because Killiks were canonically mentioned in the The Light You Bring short story does not provide sufficient evidence that those comics are depicting Killiks particularly in those time periods. • The same policy also allows for 'particularly if the canon subject is not visually identified in canon source material' Lewisr (talk) 04:34, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
        • Which would be fine if it was prose text but it appears you have misinterpreted the policy. The policy is pretty clear cut in that it refers to prose text only. It makes no mention of images without proper attribution or identification. If the comic does not explicity identify those insects as Killiks we have no proof that they are Killiks as once again there are a number of Legends insectoid species that look very similar. The sources should be removed or relegated to the BTS only as resembling Killiks as it is total speculation.
          • Not at all if you then look at the example provided 'For example: Mosep Binneed, who appears in the canon short story "The Ride" but is not pictured, may be assumed to be the same Mosep Binneed visually identified by Legends source material.' Following the same logic it stands to reason that Killiks depicted can be assumed to also be. Plus here is confirmation from Mark Brooks that it indeed is a Killik Lewisr (talk) 03:31, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
