Not in the Outer Rim?

Do sources actually state that the Kamino system is in the Outer Rim? If anything, Complete Locations places it within the Rishi Maze, so it's extragalactic. --LelalMekha (talk) 09:05, November 4, 2016 (UTC)

  • Bumping this. I've made some necessary changes to the article, and I'll explain them here. Although Star Wars: Galactic Atlas does state that Kamino is part of the Abrion sector in Wild Space, I've discussed with the book's editor, who admitted this was a mistake that could be fixed in a later reprint. As stated in Star Wars: Complete Locations, the Kamino system is both described as "extragalactic" and "[straggling] south of the Rishi Maze", which means it's neither part of of the galaxy nor the Rishi Maze. --LelalMekha (talk) 11:11, November 23, 2016 (UTC)

Abrion sector

Is Kamino exists in same sector as Rishi moon, but on 3D plane? --Goodmind (talk) 11:24, January 7, 2020 (UTC)

  • What Rex says in Rookies episode while being on Rishi Moon: "There's only one target of interest in this sector: Kamino" --Goodmind (talk) 12:05, January 7, 2020 (UTC)
    • See above, looks like there are some inconsistencies about where Kamino is located exactly, even Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition recently put it in the Outer Rim but in an unknown sector --Lewisr (talk) 13:07, January 7, 2020 (UTC)
      • I'm imagining it's like EU where you have vertical hyperlane, so technically it's not in outer rim, but still in Outer Rim sector --Goodmind (talk) 14:11, January 7, 2020 (UTC)
        • Sounds reasonable --Lewisr (talk) 14:18, January 7, 2020 (UTC)

Kamino

Wouldn't the clone troopers also be native to Kamino since they were created on Kamino? --Erebus Chronus (talk) 22:45, January 18, 2020 (UTC)

"Extragalactic"

Kamino is NOT in another galaxy (which is the meaning of extragalactic) thats just dumb. I understand that it has been mentioned as extragalactic on this page because it is apparently described as being in the Rishi Maze in the book Star Wars: Complete Locations, however in that very book the Rishi Maze is described as "located twelve parsecs away from the planet Kamino, toward the galactic north" meaning Kamino is in the main galaxy and most likely the Outer Rim Territories. --U.S.S. Marvel (talk) 13:24, August 21, 2021 (UTC)

Rex in the episode Rookies mentions that Kamino is in the same sector as the Rishi Moon which is unsurprisingly in the Outer Rim, the book Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition also puts Kamino in the Outer Rim.

With three refferences to Kamino in the Outer Rim and absolutely no refferences to it being "extragalactic" there is absolutely no justification for listing it as the later on this page. --U.S.S. Marvel (talk) 14:04, August 21, 2021 (UTC)

  • Complete Locations explicitly says it's extragalactic, so it's extragalactic. Does another source explicitly say that it's in the Outer Rim? OOM 224 13:08, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
    • Just checked, Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition does. AmazinglyCool CIS roundel (talk) 13:10, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
    • So does the Clone Wars indirectly when it mentions Kamino being in the Abrion Sector, which is known to be in the Outer Rim. Plus as I said the original justification for changing it to extragalactic in the first place came from a misunderstanding. --U.S.S. Marvel (talk) 14:18, August 21, 2021 (UTC)
      • Okay, but in the planet profile section of Complete Locations, Kamino is explicitly stated to be extragalactic, so that's official too. What I've done now is list Kamino as both extragalactic and located in the Outer Rim, since that's what Canon has provided us with. I hope we're all fine with that for now.
