Liberation of Coruscant
Please explain why everyone thinks Jar Jar's appearance in this is an "easter egg" not cannon, I still do not understand this. From what I've seen, his appearance there does not contradict anything and should be counted. 68.199.34.30
- The game is full of such easter eggs. One, I believe, shows Palpatine and Anakin at a Sith temple, but the level itself is set prior to Anakin's fall. Jar Jar appears in the same manner as this - he's not actually part of the level itself, but is only found by revealing the entire map and locating a secret area - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 20:14, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- I understand that. But other easter eggs like Anakin at the temple or the droids on Tatooine can't be cannon since they contradict other facts. Since this easter egg doesn't contradict anything else, shouldn't it still be considered cannon? If not, why shouldn't it be? 68.199.34.30 20:18, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- We don't know Jar Jar's fate post-RotS, so it can't be counted either way. Until then, however, it's best to assume that, since he's not actually part of the mission itself, he's non-canon - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 20:20, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I won't put that information back in the article again, but just so you know I think that's a stupid policy, Star Wars cannon should try to include as much as possible, the more there is the better. 68.199.34.30 20:24, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- It's not canon because it's not confirmed canon. for one this is pre-Han Solo getting frozen in carbonite. and nobody knew whether that would work. making the assumption that it hadn't been done before. But I wish it was canon. it stands to reason that palpatine would keep Jar Jar on his wall. It's a glorious trophy. The reason he's in the position that he is in."There is no escape"-Darth Vader 15:31, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Rumors of the Past
Back before the year 2002, people told my Jar Jar would die in Episode II, plus I heard that from so many places.
Was I the only one who heard this rumor or did others hear it as well? Double D 01:36, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I'm assuming that some people Hoped Jar Jar would die, and that may be how they started. However, it appears they were just that, rumors. -- SFH 01:49, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Interesting, I also heard a different rumor that he was frozen in carbonite, It's almost definetly non-canon but did anyone else hear this?--Thoggnee 20:24, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
Senator
Jar Jar Binks was a Representative...not a Senator. Am I wrong? --SparqMan 09:50, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- A handful of sources use the title Senator, notable his Ep II action figure. It is possible an alternate title for "Represenatative" is "Junior Senator" which was thrown around in old WEG sources. This would also explain why Bail Antilles's aides, Aks Moe's aides, and Orn Free Taa's aides are called "Senator so and so" in some sources, and how there can be more than one Senator for Ryloth, Devaron, etc.JustinGann 10:46, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Tonight's Evasive Action:Prey strip said in aurebesh that Emperor Palpatine sent Senator Binks somewhere, so maybe he is the Senator of Naboo now.--Rune Haako 02:35, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
Jar Jar's death
Unlike what the main article states, Jar Jar did die on Alderaan when it was blown up in episode IV, Jar Jar had moved there to assist Bail Organa.
It cannot be any other way, Jar Jar was so annoying (to put it mildly) that the only way I can tolerate his presence is by knowing he died on Alderaan. I cheer every time Alderaan gets blown up in episode IV! --82.156.49.1 03:48, 31 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Fine. Show us a Canon source and we will submit. Until then, STOP PUTTING IT IN THE ARTICLE! -- SFH 04:04, 31 Dec 2005 (UTC) P.h 01:35, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)p.h

- Binks' death on Alderaan is Supershadow crap. Lt. 1993 20:05, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- Naw man, it is true. When they show Aldreraan blow up, there is a little Gungan in the foreground screaming "Wesa dead!" It has to be Jar Jar. Just kidding.
- Oh come on, you people! Jar Jar Stinks so died on Alderaan!--24.16.119.108
- Yes. it's very true. After all, you've cited credible sources, detailed comments by the producers and actors, gotten it from George Lucas himself, so he—oh wait, you guys haven't done those things. -- SFH 02:45, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK JAR JAR DIED ON ALDERAAN AND DIED WHEN IT WAS BLOWN UP????????? Rayman 05:55, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- lucas stated that Jar Jar died on Alderaan people assume that Jar Jar was present when the death star blew the planet up. And it would put and to one of worst star wars charters ever. I do like the idea of how jar jar died in the Robot Chicken special. crtwilliams2 8:11, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
How did he die in th Robot Chicken special?-LandonJaeger
- Vader shot him out the airlock of what I suppose must have been the Executor. Unfortunately, he came back as a force ghost just after. --67.142.162.36 02:18, June 24, 2010 (UTC)
Lucas comments
Edited this passage: Edit: This theory was supported by a comment by George Lucas on the Star Wars Episode III DVD. The information that Jar Jar returned to Coruscant and served the Imperial Senate also originates from Lucas. primarily for stylistic reasons. Can someone confirm that my revised text, which states that A comment by George Lucas on the Revenge of the Sith DVD indicates that Jar Jar returned to Coruscant and served the Imperial Senate, is correct? The previous version makes it seem like Lucas has said both that Binks died on Alderaan and that he lived on Coruscant.
Also, wasn't it confirmed that the Gungan on Naboo in the ROTJ victory celebration wasn't Jar Jar? — Silly Dan 00:26, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- I think that the sentence this theory was supported by GL refers to the theory that the "Death of Jar Jar" speculation, perhaps originates from fans who hated him. MoffRebus 23:10, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- I thought he did back in the day, but I didn't by any SuperShadowy means, I thought that because I didn't know Alderaan and Naboo were two different planets, so I just assumed (much to my childhood despair) that Jar Jar and all the others were killed by the first Death Star. Naturally, I eventually figured out I was wrong. Not that I cared at that point.84.84.207.58 13:48, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

I just noticed something. It says in Jar Jar's bio that he settled down and had a family. There is no proof of that.Hitokiri Akins 20:54, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- That bit of info was based on Lucas' comments on Jar Jar's fate. Adamwankenobi 23:55, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- It may be based on that, but it's still conjecture, and has no definite proof in the either the EU or G-canon. However, if someone can provide a link to where it was said or proof that he said it, I will relent.Hitokiri Akins 12:54, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Hidden information on Jar Jar's possible fate
- If anyone follows the Evasive Action: Prey webstrip, you know that yesterday's strip showed Tremayne watching a Holonet news broadcast. On top of the screen showed a message in Aurebesh and so I translated it and this is what it said.
“In other news... Gungan Senator Binks was sent by Emperor Palpatine to...”
What can be made of this? I have a hunch it wasn't something good. DarthMaul431 01:32, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

- Where do people get the idea that Palpatine didn't trust/hated non-humans? A Zabrak apprentice, numerous non-human advisors and aides... No, I'd say he wasn't anti-non-human at all. A more suiting statement would be to say that he merely USED xenophobia and racism inherent in the Core's vastly human majority against the mostly alien Rim. Why? Same reason EVERY dictator NEEDS an enemy to survive. -SWVRoma

Jar Jar racism controversy
I noticed that this article contains no information on the controversy concerning a connection between Jar Jar and black people (in most cases, Jamaicans). This includes Lucas' quotes on the theory, the "Jar Jar"/"Jah Jah" issue, and et cetera. Should this article be unlocked for the time being? I can supply information on the matter if need be. (In fact, Wikipedia has a good deal of information on the controversy as well.) MC Otaku 09:49, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Some information is already in the second paragraph of the BtS section (though it doesn't mention Jamaicans specifically.) I suppose the article could be unprotected now, though. —Silly Dan (talk) 12:27, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- In my opinion, the theory is dumb, especially the Jamaican bit, and I don't think is needed in the article. QuentinGeorge 01:57, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- I agree that it's silly, but at the very least it should be pointed out that the controversy existed. —Silly Dan (talk) 02:16, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think the whole Jar Jar racism arguement is silly. Lucas made Jar Jar for one reason. He wanted a character his young children would understand in his movies. Gungan voice at the end of special edition/DVD ep. 6
The gungan voice and the gungan on top of that building at the end of RotJ does not serve as proof of Jar Jars survival up to that point in time, or that it was even him, but I thought it was common fan speculation that it was. I was surprised not to see any mention of this in the article.DarthMRN

Texas A&M?
Jar Jar was created by a Texas A&M Alumni? Could we get a source? How do Gungans represent A&M students at all? A thumbs up is the indication that they are related? Jar-Jar's son
After Jar Jar's retirement, he found a wife and the two had a son who they named Abso Bar Binks. Star Wars Tales
I think that references to Star Wars Tales could be retained; even though its canonicity is disputable. The story of the early life of Jar Jar is interesting. However, in the article, coming towards the "Clone Wars" section, the article gets too "choppy" from so many Star Wars Tales warnings. I suggest that we lump all the Star Wars Tales material in one section. What say you, fellow users? Gel Maethor 08:12, 5 February 2007 (UTC), from the Philippines.

Someone please tell me why they don't like Jar Jar!
People don't like Jar Jar because he is an annoyingly slapstick character more suited to a Spongebob cartoon than Star Wars. Also, it seems to me that they could have left the character out entirely, and the movie wouldn't have been much different. 12.218.145.112 18:22, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

In The Phantom Menace, when Jar Jar, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are travelling through the planet core, Jar Jar starts to panic, and Qui-Gon puts his hand on Jar Jar's shoulder and says "Relax." Canon vs. non-canon
What's the deal with the information from Failing Up With Jar Jar Binks and Melvin Fett in the middle of the article? There's an "ambiguously canon" tag, but the articles about the stories themselves and Jar-Jar's appearances section say the stories are non-canon(and they pretty clearly are). [user:Thefourdotelipsis] says further up they should be presented in chronological order, but the entries for Dooku and Darth Maul have the non-canon information in the "behind the scenes" section of their articles.
Furthermore, if we were to follow this example, wouldn't we have to do things like put a section in Yoda about Vader killing him in Infinites:ESB in between the "Next Skywalker" and "Death" sections? InSaneWeTrust 03:58, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Forum:CT:Canon/noncanon says we only keep ambiguous Tales content in the main body. I guess we'd remove those stories, if they're confirmed non-canon (and "Failing Up" definitely is) —Silly Dan (talk) 12:00, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I went ahead and made a non-canon section based on the Darth Maul page(though obviously there's not nearly as much). If somebody wants to flesh it out, that'd be great. I kept the George R. Binks and Tantive V stuff in the main body because I'm not sure if they're confirmed to be non-canon. InSaneWeTrust 22:12, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
