The Immortal could actually be the Devastator
The Immortal is the last Star Destroyer we see chasing the Tantive IV in the X-Wing game. In addition, in the game, Darth Vader is usually designated in the cargo section of the target display of the Immortal. Seeing that the Devastator was hot on the heels of the Tantive IV and that the Devastator was Darth Vader's flagship, it is possible that in 1993, when the game came out, the name of the Star Destroyer in A New Hope was unknown and they chose a name for it, the Immortal. However through repeated canon sources, we know the Star Destroyer in A New Hope is the Devastator.—Unsigned comment by R-41 (talk • contribs)
- What do you mean 'Darth Vader is usually designated in the cargo section of the target display of the Immortal.'? The game's interface don't allow such details to be shown, nor shows 'sections' of targets and Vader doesn't appear anywhere else other than the cutschenes. MoffRebus 07:44, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- In the Prima Strategy Guide for X-Wing, it states that Darth Vader is aboard the Immortal, when the Tantive IV is caught red-handed taking the plans and attacks it until it goes to hyperspace. Afterwards the guide says that after going to hyperspace, the Tantive IV was pursued and captured, probably by the same ship. Plus in the right-hand corner of the target display in the cockpit HUD which indicates what the cargo is, I believe something on the lines of "VADER" or "D. VADER" is listed there during the later portions of Tour 3.—Unsigned comment by R-41 (talk • contribs)
If you haven't noticed, Devastator is mentioned in the article. Lowbacca5 03:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, because we took them for two distinct ships. Devastator is not mentioned in the game. I don't know for the SG though MoffRebus 10:25, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Strat Guide does identify Vader as being on the Immortal but doesn't mention the Devastator. I guess they didn't know the name of the ship in Ep 4 and intended it to be the same one. I'll have a look at the relevant bit again tonight. Green Tentacle (Talk) 10:35, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

- Checked the strategy guide. The mission statistics tables list Vader as being on the Immortal during T2M11 (Deliver Plans to Princess Leia) but not in T2M12 (Protect Princess Leia). He isn't actually mentioned in any of the narrative. As for which ship intercepted Tantive IV near Tatooine, after mission 12 it says:
- "We were celebrating our victory in the mess when we heard the news. The Immortal had ambushed the Tantive IV suddenly when she returned from hyperspace. The fate of the princess and the information she carried was unknown. Our celebration turned to a wake. We feared the worst."

Imperial I-class ?
Since it is seen as early as 0 BBY and was originally mistaken for the Devastator, isn't it more likely to be an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer rather than a Imperial II-class? If there is any doubt, it should be just refered as an Imperial-class--DKS MaXoO (talk) 15:39, March 21, 2014 (UTC)
Defiantly Imperial-I the last time i'd checked.
Possible picture?
Can you screenshot/ take a picture or was that not possible in this games time. Because if we can maybe we will be able to get a picture for this wiki. If not then OK.
