Merge
Now that Jedi Fallen Order is out can we finally merge this page with the Starkiller Base page????? It was already as good as confirmed, but now Ilum in JFO has the giant trench and everything.—Unsigned comment by Sam.jarron (talk • contribs)
- I don't think it's necessary merge them. Ilum is a planet in a fixed location, and Starkiller Base is a mobile superweapon. Both articles should be updated, though. - Cwedin(talk) 23:22, November 17, 2019 (UTC)
- The difference between the two should be more substantially clarified, IMO. I say Starkiller should be classified as a superweapon installed within Ilum, but otherwise remain separate. DFaceG (talk) 01:25, November 18, 2019 (UTC)
- As much its implied that they're the same, do we have anything that says "Illum became Starkiller Base"?? Otherwise even though it might be, its still speculation.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 01:28, November 18, 2019 (UTC)
- There’s the info mentioned in the topic above, but otherwise no. From an in-universe standpoint, it doesn’t make much sense either, because it doesn’t make sense for the empire to start to make Starkiller before they’ve even started the Death Star.-The Grand Chewbacca (Talk) 03:40, November 18, 2019 (UTC)
- I do think its possible given that they might not have seen it as a superweapon project, but as a way to harvest the Kyber. Anyways, then I think we shouldn't merge anything until further confirmation that they indeed are the same planet--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 03:44, November 18, 2019 (UTC)
- They're the same planet lmao, literally just look at how Ilum looks in Fallen Order. It's the trench from SKB.--Sam.jarron (talk) 06:14, November 18, 2019 (UTC)

- I think we should just keep Starkiller Base and Ilum seperate, we'll just have to update both articles. --Supreme Commander Raxus (talk) 19:17, November 20, 2019 (UTC)
- I agree. How about Ilum for the planet and Starkiller Base specifically for the superweapon and military installation? SilverSunbird (talk) 20:57, November 20, 2019 (UTC)
- Same here. Besides, I really do not want to see the canon Ilum screwed up in such a way. --Rakhsh (talk) 21:10, November 20, 2019 (UTC)
Confirmation
With the confirmation that Illum and Starkiller Base are the same, I was wondering if Starkiller Base article should be converted into a location article instead of a planet and add Starkiller Base as point of interest of Illum.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 23:18, December 20, 2019 (UTC)
- I think that's probably a good idea. Starkiller is the trench/weapon itself while Ilum is left as the planet article. Zed42 (talk) 23:35, December 20, 2019 (UTC)
- Yep I agree with Ruiz and Zed's proposal. Tomotron

- Voicing my agreement with this proposal. Giftheck (talk) 21:23, December 22, 2019 (UTC)
Continuity Issues
For those who've read the novel Ahsoka, is there not a glaring continuity issue with Ilum in Fallen Order and the way the temple is supposed to be depicted in-game? I can't be the only one who has made this connection. Definitely open for discussion and or thoughts. --DoctorMax (talk) 05:11, January 12, 2020 (UTC)
- I have read Ahsoka, but the thing is, it takes place in 18 BBY, whereas JFO takes place in 14 BBY. I find it perfectly reasonable that the empire could have excavated Ilum in that amount of time. I mean, the empire created the 2nd death star in an even shorter amount of time, so I think it makes sense. Thanks,--CommanderDeviss327
